BASES

The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES) is the professional body for sport and exercise sciences in the UK. BASES mission is to drive excellence in sport and exercise sciences through the promotion of evidence-based practice and the development and enhancement of professional and ethical standards. BASES enables professionals working in sport and exercise science to demonstrate to employers and clients that they possess the knowledge and skills to practice safely and effectively. Certified Exercise Practitioner (CEP) is a professional certification providing recognition for exercise professionals. CEP establishes the credibility of practitioners who can demonstrate the necessary practical vocational knowledge and skills to work effectively in a clinical exercise environment, underpinned by an academic qualification.

CIMSPA.

CIMSPA is the guardian of a single professional and apprenticeships standards framework for the sport and physical activity sector – the knowledge, skills and behaviours for every sector job role. CIMSPA referral grade means RJ Fitness is qualified to a standard to work as a GP referral to train people with a variety of health conditions.

RCCP.

The Registration Council for Clinical Physiologists (RCCP) Have accepted me as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with the experience I have gained in hospitals as well as my qualifications. "Professional registration represents a step-change in the provision of exercise prescription in clinical populations. Those registered will be qualified health professionals proficient in exercise testing, prescription and delivery of evidence-based interventions for the prevention, treatment and long-term management of acute, sub-acute, chronic and complex conditions. They work as part of multi-disciplinary teams of healthcare and rehabilitation providers across sectors and settings. Clinical Exercise Physiologist services will aim to optimise physical function and health whilst promoting long-term health through lifestyle modification and behaviour change."

BACPR.

British Association of Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) is a membership organisation representing and serving the needs of all professionals involved in cardiovascular disease prevention and rehabilitation.  As an affiliated group of the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS), the BACPR was first established as the British Association for Cardiac Rehabilitation (BACR) in 1993 as a multi-disciplinary body. To date it continues in this light with its membership consisting of an array of disciplines involved in cardiovascular health, including: nurses, physiotherapists, cardiologists, GPs, dieticians, psychologists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists and exercise instructors.

BACPR Education coordinates both the well-respected BACPR Specialist Level 4 Exercise Instructor qualification and a range of short Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses for health and exercise professionals involved in cardiovascular prevention and rehabilitation all recognised by BCS and Skills Active/Chartered Institution for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA). Delegates receive comprehensive peer reviewed course material and all courses are delivered by specialist professionals from the UK currently involved in the field of cardiovascular rehabilitation.
